Concrete Soli Fest - ÜBER YOU & DAS EMPIRE!

am 2. märz veranstalten wir ein soli konzert um geld für beton zu besorgen. ziel ist der ausbau der beauty und weiterbau am beast. dafür haben wir zwei wahnsinns bands: ÜBER YOU und DAS EMPIRE!

Eintritt ist 5+, 2.3.2012, autonomer beauty salon Zürich an der Hohlstrasse 485. Beide Bands sind eng mit dem Beast und der Beauty verbunden, deswegen freut es uns besonders, die Acts für unser Solifest gewinnen zu können. SIHLSIDE - D.I.Y. OR DIE!

Last springtime, we decided to build our own spot. At this moment, not one quarter-pipe or miniramp or anything else with a transition was in the city of Zurich. Plans for a huge skatepark are in the work. SINCE I CAN THINK. But regulations, fundings, the place itself and problems with the skater concerned by this project led to thousands of problems, maybe the park will be built by the end of 2012.

So, the decision to build something ourself was more then reasonable. We funded and built this project by ourself.

We started with a simple quarter-pipe with a concrete coping. We didn't knew how long it would take, until it gets demolished, so we waited some time until we poured the concrete for the next step. A small china bank with a speed bump was built in one evening time. With every step we learned new tricks.

At summer's end we decided to build something bigger, a round corner with a hip. This time we thought also about a masterplan, a complete bowl. In a weekend, the corner was set up.

We had many hard session on this spot, many tricks and beers went down.

Ironically, the big, 4 million Swiss Franc, skatepark will be built 100m away from our spot. Which will it make impossible and pointless for us to continue there.

But we are ready for a new adventure!
